Did the authorities report a Kevlar vest? Could it have been an ammo vest that the students saw?

But I agree, the removal of the SN would suggest purchasing something off the street.

The pistols being 9mm and 22cal suggest they were not purchased to commit mass murder though. Those are not the weapons of choice for a terrorist.

No they didn’t. The “vest” could have been a vest like the stuff you buy at websites all over.

But I have heard a few news sites say “bullet proof vest”. Not they they are any more accurate than us right now.

I don't know...I can't speak for the tastes of the average terrorist, but a 9mm holds on average 15 rounds and is easily concealable. A pair of them means that, with fire discipline, you are never without the ability to immediately fire a round, and outwardly you still look no different than anyone else. I think a pair of 9mm pistols could be much more effective than an AK if you anticipate the need for stealth.
