so... 1 instance makes a profile .... I do not think that word means what you think it means ...
ANd before September 11th, flying airplanes into buildings didn’t fit the profile either. A profile is nothing more than a history of how a group has acted in the past. To claim that “islamic terrorists” in general have a specific profile is ridiculous as there are so many groups covered by the phrase “islamic terrorists”.
If my memory serves me correct, in the past years on college campuses we have had one or two islamic terrorists run people over with cars and one try to blow-up a football game (OK v. K. State). I don’t think either of these fit a profile for islamic terror up until that point either, but if they happen again, people will instantly associate those acts with Islamic terror.
But, at what point does a profile emerge? Do we need ten killers? Eleven? What about the DC snipers combined with the Utah shooter? How about groups in Iraq kidnapping and executing people trying to join Iraqi police forces?
It seems that the only common thread to islam is massive killing and if Allah is particularly kind to the murderers, then the killings are in the bloodiest manner possible. That is the profile of islamic terror.
The DC Sniper was a Muslim convert, so anything need to be specific with lone gunman theory as to be connected to the ROP?
