Gunman on Campus; Stay inside your building, away from windows; Shooting incident at West Ambler Johnston Hall

Wasn't a lot of charging in to do. He and the wife were there having dinner.
The search for others involved and the pictures of it are probably causing people to think LEOS were "standing around." They were clearing the campus to ensure there were no further threats.
Mine too. Truly sickening - it's all about the ratings to them. They couldn't wait to set up shop down there to exploit the situation.
Did this guy have a roomate? Have they said?
They had to be there in order to get the pained look on the parents’ faces as they arrived on campus, you know?
I’m picturing the parents driving and the press taking helicopters.
Yes, but you said it yourself. The following is a direct quote of yours from maybe 20 or 30 minutes ago:
Maybe because when they tried the doors, they couldnt open them? CHAINED doors would be evident, even from the outside.
Since when does "when they tried the doors" mean anything other than that they tried the doors?
Sorry, need some comic relief!
During the press conference, they said that he used the same gun at both sites, the 9mm. Apparently the .22 wasn't used at all.
*sigh* catch up with all the other crapola I got on this thread over this 1 little post. And don’t equate policies on property with laws.
Never mind that.
What ticks me is something else.
Sure enough, right after I thought about how it always happens, FOX had an “expert” detective on WHO CALLED THE KILLER “GENTLEMAN” - and continued to call him “GENTLEMAN”.
WHAT THE H-— IS UP WITH PEOPLE CALLING MURDERING SCUMBAGS “GENTLEMEN” ALL THE TIME? IT’S NEVER USED ANYWHERE ELSE EXCEPT NEWS ON SOME CRIMINAL!
FAA TO ESTABLISH TFR OVER BLACKSBURG TODAY
AOPA is sending this message to advise pilots in and near Blacksburg, Virginia, that the FAA has issued a notam restricting flight in the area during President Bush's planned visit to Virginia Tech today, Tuesday, April 17.
Looks like he'll be there shortly after noon - there is an advisory for severe turbulence in that area so I hope they take it easy!!!
I don’t think it’s as much being a wimp as being “nice” (heavens, we can’t hurt the scumbag, he might sue)...and worrying whether they might hurt innocents.
Of course, the irony is, if you don’t act, especially with a loon, odds are that more innocents will be hurt than if you do go in “guns blazing”!
Yes, you may.
Sarcasm. Guys around here use ‘gentleman’ and ‘fine upstanding citizen’ interchangeably and never mean either.
“that holocaust survivor professor who held the door shut while the students were jumping out the windows. He died going down trying to save others. That is a hero to me.”
Sorry to go “off-topic”, but where did you hear/see about this?
I haven’t gotten to see/hear much news. Mostly just through FR.
Did you miss the MAYBE?? What does MAYBE mean to you? How about ‘perhaps’ or ‘perchance’ or ‘possibly’ or ‘feasibly’. I did NOT say it was a fact, but you have already crucified the cops as cowards. Bcause YOU know that they had numerous chances to stop him and didn’t, because they were lazy, or afraid, or incompetent. Not because they didn’t know who the guy was, where the guy was, or didn’t READ HIS MIND and KNOW he was going to pop up somewhere else two hours later and go on another rampage.
Two things:
Are you saying our 'Betters' regard us a prisoners?
"CALL to ARMS" is an excellent idea.
Unbelievable, gutwrenching heroism and courage.
Looks like you combined 2 posts!
Anyway, it’s NOT sarcasm. The way the people say it, it just flows. That’s not sarcasm. They don’t put an emphasis on the word or any such thing.
Happens all the time on the 11 news. It can be a detective, cop, or a man on the street, and he always says “I saw the gentleman pass my car....” nice and easy. No sarcasm about it. Just matter-of-fact.
Annoys the HELL out of me. Especially since the word is almost never used any more.
Yes, if that’s true, it is heroism.
