Well after righting that, I got my lazy butt up and made my son his favorite, MD crab cakes.
He was a poster child for affirmative action, no way they’d fire him, they promote him!
He could never even read and pronounce my son’s name correctly, even by the time he graduated with honors and a scholarship.
Very very sad statement for our school system, if I had to do it over, I’d home school, no question.
I guess I am a dreamer, silly me. These things take on a life of their own, don’t they? Patience really IS a virtue.
They’ve had mass amounts of email from me starting the day it was announced they’d hired him. It hasn’t done any good thusfar. :(
Maybe you are right. This whole thing has really rattled me though.
I think VT should build a monument to Liviu Librescu.
How do you know any police tried to open the doors? Where did this information come from?
It's obvious no police tried to open the doors since no police:
Only faculty and students were injured/killed.
The police all waited outside, apparently. No one wanted to get close to this guy.
I'm not a police-hater or anything, but this appears to be a simple fact.
How many police approached this guy in the five hours between 7:15 and around 12:20 or 12:30 when he killed himself?
Zero.
Ziltch.
Zip.
Notta.
It's a darn good thing the shooter killed himself because who knows what else might have happened had he not.
Amen, Alia! Well said.
So beautiful,thank you EmilyGeiger.
Maybe he bought the gun, put it in his backpack, and never took it out until he used it that day. So the receipt was still in the bag.
And maybe he didn’t take the serial numbers off. I didn’t here official confirmation that the serial numbers were taken off, so I don’t know if that story is accurate or not. I’m not saying it’s NOT accurate, just that I haven’t seen official confirmation yet.
It does seem that buying two guns over the last month or so would indicate a certain premeditation on his part though — but that is again speculation, and I look forward to learning more facts as the case is investigated further.
Great post, thanks!
Oh, I agree. I just think it’s human nature to connect information with control. I think it’s more about our own need to be in control than the law enforcement community itself.
He was a great man and very instrumental in the Holocaust Memorial project
I learned this morning that a classmate of my son lost her father. She’s 11.
Your son has good taste. I love MD crab cakes. My daughter graduates from college next month and is in a serious relationship. I might suggest to her that she homeschoo. Heck, I’ll do it for her if she wants me too!
Looks like that site with the “ Mr. Cho” revelation is down now.
Wouldn’t Cho be looking for the new boyfriend at his class in Norris, since he shot his gf earlier than morning?
The “person of interest” was apparently the boyfriend of one of the victims from the first shooting in West Ambler Johnston. He was a student at Radford University (a few miles up the road from VT) and was stopped and being detained on the side of the highway when Cho opened up in Norris Hall.
It’s speculation, but I expect that over the next couple of days, we’re going to find out that Cho had been stalking this girl, or else had tried to date her and gotten shot down in flames. Now why he went to Norris and opened fire on mechanical engineering classes (and a German class, where many of the casualties were), I have no idea. Sounds like this guy wasn’t wrapped real tight.
The amazing thing is, he lived ON-CAMPUS (Harper Hall, I think). From my three years in a dorm, I find it remarkable that this guy could put this together (two handguns and a crapton of ammo) and not have somebody have an inkling that Something Bad was going to happen. It’s very hard to keep secrets with that many 18- to 23-year-olds crammed together that tightly.

Hello, m.
He was a Romanian Holacaust survivor, an American Citizen who had immigrated here from Israel.
Bennett put the pieces of the story together this am.
Surely, God is comforting his family as we speak.
True, someone will try to sue, but I can’t figure out on what grounds if he followed the mandated procedures to the letter.
You make a great point. I think back to when I was in college and the me of today would not issue a firearm to the Freshman or Sophmore Dan...but by the time I was a Junior I was a different man. Not every kid on campus would be carrying...but having those that care enough to get regisitered and get a permit and bother to carry would probably be a great asset in a situation like we had yesterday.
Roger Ailes loves him.
Oh, aren’t you just so in-the-know! You must have BEEN THERE!
