” Regionalism isn’t quite what it used to be. “

I think I was probably born a southerner, in a northern family — I have no love of, nor nostalgia for, snow, cold, ice, and all the trappin’s of winter....

In NM, I lived within a 15 minute drive of Sandia Peak Ski Area, and people would ask me if I liked to ski...

My response: “I spent a lot of my childhood summers on a dairy farm in Wisconsin, so I learned at an early age to not play in anything that I have to shovel....”

;~)

That’s why I’m happier being in Boise, where snow is light and not common, instead of Ogden, where one snow storm dumped over 30 inches on my very sloped driveway...I am not fond of snow in the street!
