(AP) _ A state official says police have found the driver they believe caused a car accident that left Gov. Jon S. Corzine critically injured, and would not be charging the man. An official with knowledge of the investigation said the driver, a man who worked at a casino in Atlantic City, didn't realize he had caused the accident and thought he actually avoided an accident.

Dems are hiding facts for a reason....
According to diagrams in the NYTimes, the right front of the Gov’s SUV hit the center of the side of the red truck. Since it was not head-on, and both vehicles were going in the same direction, this would have pushed the SUV towards the center guardrail regardless of the SUV driver’s actions.
You can always count on the NY Post! Now that IS journalism!

At the very least, the mainstream media smells here.
From the outset, most of the MSM have been shrieking "hit-and-run."
Yet it's been known since shortly after the accident, that there was NO hit and run.
There may have been a chain reaction effect: Maybe the red pickup swerved, causing the white pickup to swerve (and then to bump the gov's SUV).
But no one "hit and ran." The driver of the white pickup stopped at the scene.
And until a few minutes ago, ABC radio new readers have been excitedly claiming that the driver of the red pickup "fled the scene."
Yet now it's reported that the driver of the red pickup apparently was not even aware of an accident behind him.
Like with the Duke lacrosse team, the MSM have struck again:
- Stretching the facts for a sensational headline.
- Getting the facts wrong.
- Lazily repeating other so-called journalists' errors.
I would say that Corzine has a "mental impairment" for not using his seatbelt.The media use "hit-and-run" and "leaving the scene of the accident" interchangeably.
I don't know about NJ, but most states have laws against "leaving the scene of the accident." Someone pulling unsafely into moving traffic and causing an accident, even if they are not in the collision itself, are still charged with causing the accident. If they leave the scene, they are also charged with "leaving the scene." Any NJ law enforcement people out there care to respond?
They drive up, spew their lies, innuendo and half-truths, and beat a hasty retreat. If the initial reports start a firestorm, so what. They'll never come back to retract the initial hysteria, at least not at the volume they issued forth to begin with.
Leaving the scene of an accident is illegal in New Jersey. Even if you are just a witness, you are supposed to stop and wait for authorities.
HONK HONK!!
And .. I believe you have the right answer. If they are going to allow illegals to run wild .. then they have to support not putting them in jail even if they commit a crime .. how silly of us not to see that !!
That means the red pickup driver could have been charged. Why wasn't he? This smells like a four day old flounder wrapped in the NY Times.
