Great point. These were all Clinton appointees. The Army is better off without them. No doubt the ones who came in under our President will reverse the trend.

They weren't Clinton appointees. Weren't they nominated by their individual congress critters?

If anything, it will get worse!

Nonsense...USMA cadets are not poilitcal appointees...while each Congressman, Senator and the President can nominate potential cadets it's a highly competitive process and only the best are selected (not appointed).

For the most part (there may be a rare exception) they enter the Academy to get an education and serve their country. To say that the Army is better off without them only displays your ignorance.

The sheer ignorance of your comment is overwhelming! It is obvious that you know nothing about the Academy or its admission process. Get educated before you make such moronic statements. Much as I hate Bill Clinton, he had nothing to do with the selection of cadets at West Point. Additionally, if you think those kids don't earn every penny's worth of their education - while at West Point and later in the active Army - you are sadly mistaken. Get a clue before making such stupid statements.

Clinton appointees? Man these were high school students who applied for entry into West Point. President Clinton had little to do with who got in and didn’t get in. I was on the Admissions at the Naval Academy during this time and I did not see President Clinton come into our board one single time. This is absurd that you think that Clinton had anything to do with appointing these kids. This reduction has some to do with the war, but more to do with the fact that we are at 4 percent unemployment right now!!!!! Don’t you know that??????
