Rib fractures is oversimplifying his injuries. He suffered 12 rib fractures, a sternum fracture, a collarbone fracture, and vertebral fractures. At the very least he has a flail chest. I haven’t heard anything about his liver, spleen, or lungs yet.
When the story initally broke, it made it sound like he just had scrapes or bruises.
