He apologized. Nobody should give a flying burrito whether they accept it or not.

I remember when Imus first came to NY, on NBC..this rep preceeded him, and he was an activealcoholic and a druggie at that time. Many mornings, he showed up late for the show, or not at all..the newspaper would run reader polls as to whether or not he'd show up on time on a certain day.
Back then he used to supplement his income, ( and getting freeze booze, no doubt ) by doing a stand-up act on the weekends at the old "Toots Shor's" nightclub. I caught him twice. Very funny act.
FYI..Rich Galen's "Mullings" column ( a good read, as always ) today..is titled "Imus Is In Mourning"
And the WFAN website still hasn't been changed to reflect the new order. Imus's bio and schedule still head it..

I’m not surprised to hear he was a druggie and alcoholic. It’s amazing he ever got a television gig, given his reputation.

I see that Mrs. William Jefferson Clinton is going to be meeting with the Rutgers basketball team. Is she not the most shameless panderer ever? Will she also be meeting with the Duke Lacrosse Team?

Thanks. I hadn’t seen that yet.

Did anyone think of the symbolism and healing that could come from the Rutgers team meeting the Duke team? at the frat house?

I agree 100%.
Some blame Hillary, considering what he has said about her. And Lieberman hasn't said a word even though Imus strongly supported him.

The very idea that they would let children suffer just to appease someone like Sharpton is infuriating. I’m sure Imus will remember every single person who stabbed him in the back like this.

Dang...I didn’t hear that part.
I have heard so much negativity and arguments the last week, I wish I had heard that...
Thanks

Dan Rather used forged documents yet it took years to get rid of him.
Imus must have already been unloved by the CBS establishment. Wonder why?

Outrageous. People have said far worse things and noting was done. I am sure the basketball players are tough enough that being called a name - even though it was nasty and undeserved - will have no impact on them. In contrast, the Duke lacrosse players were framed by Nifong and faced enormous legal bills, emotional distress, expulsion from college, and a long prison term if Nifong had his way.
Yet more outrage is shown against somebody calling somebody a name than what Crystal, Nifong, Brodhead, and others did to the Duke lacrosse players. The term sick society comes to mind.
