It was just announced on the "Mike and the Mad Dog Show" on WFAN (Imus's home base): Imus is out of a job on radio as well.
He will not even be on the air tomorrow.
Sharpton was an extremist nonentity - until the Clintons began courting him.
Speaking of Opie and Anthony they have been great for the week defending free speech. Patrice O'Neal (O&A regular) has been awesome on Hannity. Sean you've been great. F*** everyone else, especially you O'Reilly.
I betcha 10 bucks that somehow Hillary will affect an accent or use a word that will make her sound “black”...LOL
lol. I'm sick about this but do you know what Imus said a couple of days ago? Something like, "if I really meant that stuff I should be in jail!" So, he was becoming one of THEM almost. It is all so bizarre.
The greaseman got suspended when he said that “do you know what NASA stands for ? Now it means need another seven astronauts” (after challenger exploded).
He was permanently canned when he said regarding the martin luther king holiday, “if they had killed 6 more of them and we could get the whole week off”
I know this:
Anderson Cooper on CNN has a “source” at the Governor’s mansion in New Jersey...where the meeting between Imus and the Rutgers Girls are meeting RIGHT NOW.
AC said the meeting has been going on for a few hours..and that the girls keep asking “why us, why us?”
HE said he would continue to “report” what is said...
SOOO..he might have the 411 on whether they ask for money or any other compensation.
Excuse me?
Come on, tell us how you really feel.
Imus always was one of them.
Anyway, yes it is bizarre.
We have some here who think that Imus is protected from being fired by his employer by the First Amendment.
And then we have Imus himself who thinks that hate speech is a criminal act.
YMB is a radio gimmick for DJ’s when they get fired....
Last thing they say on the air. Sorry, Ive been hanging at the O&A website where the level of discourse is, shall we say, a little rougher. No offence meant to you, just used your post as a reply point.
Now, am I fired?
Where’d you go, coward?
I heard this morning from a local black minister that things have to be cleanned up across the board, including the issue of gansta rap music. I wish him all the best in his efforts.
I didn’t have any idea why you had posted that.
Just the regular airwaves. They will not touch the satilite airwaves anyways.
What they or anyone wants doesn't matter. Only what is doable matters. Precedents pave the way to make doable tomorrow what is not doable today. To say that precedent doesn't matter is to deny reality. It is to deny the meaning of words like precedent and incrementalism. The fact that the left is unethical and would like to deny reality themselves doesn't free them from working with it. They know this quite well as evidenced by their strategies. If the right ignores this reality and doesn't recognize that events are connected the left will make good use of the opportunity.
This was a precedent in controlling the airwaves and it provides a foothold for the next step.
Proctor and Gamble and Staples are not very smart pandering to a group that has probably the least number of spending dollars. A backlash could be devastating.
And I read that Mike Barnacle is replacing him.
In the end, all this attempt at shuting up outspoken conservitives will simply make satilite radio all the more popular and will create demand for it. The libs will still be the big losers in all of this.
Try SIXTY TIMES more than Imus'.
20 MILLION vs. 338,000.
