Nifong Issues Apology to Ex-Lacrosse Players
Posted: 2 minutes ago
Durham The local prosecutor who charged three Duke lacrosse players with raping a stripper apologized Thursday, acknowledging the decision of state prosecutors to dismiss all charges against them was correct.
"To the extent that I made judgments that ultimately proved to be incorrect, I apologize to the three students that were wrongly accused," Durham County District Attorney Mike Nifong said in a statement.

Nifong has some kind of mental problem.
Maybe he's just a really mean person.
No, he is just a democrat. Winning by any means no matter who you destroy is just business as usual. After all he really needed those black voters in order to win his election.

One thing that stands out to me was his out of court statements against the defendants that proved to be lies. Also, I seem to recall that he failed to provide exculpatory evidence to the defendants (Brady vs. Md.). For the first, he can be sued for libel and/or slander by the three former defendants.
For the second, he will be disbarred.

This is just to avoid the bad answer to the question at trial: “and, Mr. Nifong, you never even apologized to the players did you?”
He’s still getting sued and the apology doesn’t matter. It just avoids one bad answer.

Three lives ruined is barely worth 1 sentence?? Amazing 1 sentence with at least three qualifier.
1. To the extent
2. judgments that ultimately proved to be incorrect
3. Wrongly accused. (Only the alleged victim does the accusing so he is not even taking responsibility for this)
with all the qualifier the words I apologise barely stand out.

IMO, the DA held off prosecuting the stripper as an appeasement to the ‘community’....(am I being clear?)

That puts him one up on Sharpton, Jackson, and the New York Times.
And believe it or not, this is exactly the out that Sharpton and Jackass have been looking for. Now instead of apologizing they will publicly lay blame for their remarks on Nifong for deliberately misleading them.
Another victory for the race pimps.

You sorry piece of crap Nifong you have ruined their lives. They will have to have letters from the state every time they apply for a job or loan as their background investigation will state that they were arrested and indicted for rape. That cannot be erased from the federal crime computer and will show up again and again.
You of course cannot be sued for your actions as a PERSECUTOR because like a judge anything you do in office as it concerns a case is totally outside any legal civil courts jurisdiction in other words you as a judge are immune.

That’s the lamest non-apology I’ve ever seen...... what a scumbag, even now he cannot issue a genuine apology (not that it would mean anything after what he’s done to these guys and their families). LIEfong needs be disbarred for starters, and then he should be sent to jail for as long as he would have sent these innocent guys to jail..... OK, I suppose the latter is not legally possible, so let’s just give some life-long humiliation for the LIE-fong.

The apology along with an offer to reimburse the boys and their families their legal fees, plus interest would be nice.
