But his employers...CBS who’s had him for at least 2 decades and PMSNBC who’s had him for 11 and just signed a new 10 year contract with him...have ALLOWED this kind of behavior to go on unpunished in the past.

This is no different than Disney caving to CAIR over the WMAL host that bashed Islam.

If they cave here on the issue of free speech for EVERYONE...there is no limit to where the thought police will go next.

I believe it was a 5 year contract, but I could be wrong. Regardless, the employer has the right hire and fire employees. If the employer breaks a contract then they are libel for their actions in court. We don't know what kind of ethics policies or codes of conduct were in his contract but it's up to the employer to enforce those policies even if they are hypocritical and uneven in doing so...that's the right of an employer.

I hate like hell the appearance of Jessie Jackass and NotsoSharpton getting a victory here but if you owned your own business wouldn't you want the right to fire an employee for what he may say to YOUR customers? Especially if something said made your customers/"advertisers" leave your business?
