Soul food is an American cuisine, a selection of foods, typically associated with African Americans of the Southern United States. I recommend the entire Wikipedia article as a good historical read. From personal experience growing up and learning to cook in eastern NC, soul food is just plain good eats. This expanded menu only scratches the surface.
Fried Chicken, Country Fried Steak, and Pork Ribs
