I've spent most of my life along the Gulf Coast and can attest to the humidity and heat.
You are lucky, I love high heat and humidity. I like to step outside early in the morning and feel instant heat on my face. I cannot imagine why someone would not like it. Soon as I can get my farm sold to the developers, I'll be back in Dixie and hopefully heat. Although my wife wants to move to Chattanooga or Asheville; just might let her. ha ha
By the way the Varina Davis quote about the menage a trois came from Foote's narrative of The Civil War volume III. I will have to get Jefferson Davis, Private Letters 1823-1889 by Hudson Strode. Thanks for the tip.
