I had rather thought that after being thoroughly trounced with their choice of Alan Keyes as the nominee in 2000 they would be a bit more temperate in their discussions about future presidents, but alas, it isn’t to be.

I took him to mean he thought you were implying there was some connection between the statement we were discussing and the statement you asked about.

I took him that way because I thought you implied the same thing.
