I don’t give a damn about Imus but free speech is everything. Another example of the tyranny of the minority destroying a professional for a misstep. It is clear that the constitution gives certain citizens more equal protection under the law than others. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton have a history of anti-white, antisemitic racial and religious slurs yet have complete immunity from libel. I guess certain “hate” is protected speech and other “hate” is criminal. More evidence that certain “minorities” greatest power is derived by remaining “victimized” and/or being perpetual under dogs. Can one be less than but equal? We are losing our republic. Pathetic.

I agree. As I posted on another thread, I find myself in the uncomfortable and unfamiliar position of agreeing with Howard Stern and Rosie O’Donnell. Imus and his corporate masters are cowards, pure and simple.

Imus still has free speech rights, but what I see this case as an example of is a feeding frenzy which has taken on a life of its own against someone the left would probably have just as much preferred to leave alone. If you are a white public person and you say something like this, unless you are *very* well connected (as in being a member of congress) and a democrat, your career is toast.

"I dont give a damn about Imus but free speech is everything." Free speech originally pertained to political speech, not to all speech, as set up by our founding fathers.
