You’re 100% right, Carolyn. I hadn’t realized just how bad this all was until a few years ago when I read the expose on Jesse Jackson called Shakedown.
A Wall Street analyst is quoted in that book as saying there were only two major corporations in the country that hadn’t given Jesse money rather than listen to him whine that they were racist corporations because they weren’t hiring enough blacks. Two in the whole country!
It’s all about $$.
So, I watched Anderson Cooper 360 and he had email and callins about this with a Black Conservative Female, John Fund and a Black Radio Announcer....
One caller was a black male from NYC and he was supportive of Imus -- not what he said, but the man and said he, as a black man, is sick of cable TV always calling out Al or Jesse everytime something to do with Black people happens. The black commnetator agreed, said cable needs to find some other people on their call list than these two shake-down artists.
Anderson said in just a day, since Imus had been fired, his email was being swamped with people who are outraged and have had enough of this double standard. At least some people in this country "get" what this is really all about...
Oh, and today Al Sharpton is leading a march on CBS news.... hmmmm where was all the outrage when Dan Rather trumped up things about the President -- how long did it take to get something done about that!!!!
