“So..if it is the “venue” that makes the difference..then if Imus was on satellite radio and said that same thing..it would be okay?”

Personally, as a black person, I could care less if he stayed on Public or Private airways. I’m not easily offended.

However, it amuses me when so many so called conservatives only consider Sharpton and Jackson as being representative of black people. These two are the only blacks paraded in front of the the DBM that you (so called conservatives) decry. But you only legitimize the DBM when it concerns blacks. Have you considered that there may be other blacks who were offended but was not on the DBM.

Mention SharptonJackson and become Coulter hating moonbats.

BTW I am a conservative.

It is refreshing to find someone, especially a Black, who is not so easily offended. Wish that Rutgers player could talk to you.

As to the other comments regarding the so-called Black leaders. They get paraded out as such not only by conservatives, but by liberals as well, because that is the role they have portrayed themselves in.

Thanks for your post. I posted the following this morning and think it addresses the problems you mentioned.

“If Imus goes down like I think he could go down, he could easily become the poster boy - without rebuttal - for political correctness for years to come. This is a very big fight and Imus is almost irrelevant in that fight now.”-— leadpenny

As usual, Lead, you have got right to the heart of the matter.

Who loses is blacks, since the white power elites will turn over their responsibility to be just to the race-hustlers who will “speak truth to white power” for a fee, of course.

The biggest losers are all decent Americans of whatever colour, as the problems of the underclass (which is not exclusively black) can be ignored or bought off.

Shelby Steele, who wrote “White Guilt”, addressed this on Laura Ingraham’s show this morning, but Steele, Sowell, Peterson, et al., are persona non grata in any debate on race, since they don’t exploit white guilt, knowing how little that affects change.

The Clinton gang must be high-fiving each other as if they had won a national basketball championship. Their “win” is a big loss to blacks and to all of us.

Shelby Steele said that for Imus to crawl to someone like Al Sharpton is to legitimize Sharpton as the high priest of racial justice who dispenses “absolution” to erring whites.

He also believes that money will change hands — Jesse and the Rev will be rewarded by white corporate America for “absolving” white guilt, and blacks will be impoverished on a deeper level.

Wow...I don’t know what I did to you...

If you want, I can blast Armstrong Williams...he was all for Imus to be fired, also. He is supposed to be conservative, right??

You say you aren’t easily offended..but I sure don’t know what I did that you are lumping me in “..But YOU only legitimize the DBM when it concerns blacks.”

What do you know about when or if I legitimize the DBM??

BTW I am a conservative.

So is Armstrong Williams, and he was calling for Imus to be fired.
