I’m sure it’s a big deal for those in active duty who would like to see their families.

It shouldn’t be because it is an all volunteer military and it’s been known for many years that extensions are always a possibility and even call back for duty after leaving is a possibility. They all miss their families but being in the military 3 extra months overseas can’t be or isn’t supposed to be a big deal.
