Who am I talking about? Lets see, Tim Russert, David Gregory, Chris Matthews, Howard Fineman, Jonathan Alter
the list goes on and on.
Howard Stern has said before that Imus regularly used racial slurs against the black employees of WNBC when they both worked there, including Stern's sidekick Robin Quivers. I've always been a little surprised that Imus turned into some sort of icon for liberal hipness (a sort of 90s predecessor to Jon Stewart today).

Someone probably made this point last night, but if Stern is correct, the point Stajack's article is spot on. I have heard enough Imus to not really be surprised about the sexist nature of his comments; the racial stuff one would have thought he would have enough sense to avoid.
BUT his enablers had led him to believe that whatever he said , no matter how vile, was "cutting and irreverent."
And we shouldn't be distracted by this, either. It is a perfect opportunity to drive home what hypocrites they all are. Last night Fred Barnes was on Fox saying that the team was taking their outrage a bit too far, and acted like they were being a bit hysterical. As Stajack points out, Barnes took his eye off the prize, derailed the discussion into one about if the women were too sensitive, and MISSED THE POINT.
