Right! We're very smart. I've been saying for some time you can ignore the ones that are already here for the time being because until you stop the border crossings they're just going to turn around and come right back. Once the border is closed we will be in a position to be a great deal more compassionate in how we treat the ones that are already here, though not the violent criminal ones, or the ones that drive drunk, or drive without insurance, or defraud Social Security, or work off the books... Uh, maybe we ARE going to have to deport (or lock up) all 30 million.
It is such an absurd situation to begin with. The politicians are the ones who have failed to secure our borders and refused to enforce our laws. Now that there are 12 to 20 million illegals here, we are told by them that we must make them legal because it is impractical to send them home. It would be laughable if it weren't so serious. Is anyone accountable for the existing situation? The politicians make it sound like it was beyond their control. Sh*t happens?
No need to do that.
Just make it a felony to employ an illegal, a felony to provide an illegal with any form of taxpayer-funded service (with the exception of emergency medical care in the event of an actual life-threatening situation) and amend the Constitution to strip citizenship from anyone who was born in the US to non-US citizens anytime after 1988.
Do that and the vast majority of them will leave on their own “dime.”
