Yes, people die for what they believe is true, but people do not die for what they know is NOT true. History says all of the disciples died for their faith except John.

The apostles died for refusing to recant their belief and give allegiance to Rome. Suicide bombers die because they are expecting 72 virgins and immediate security of heaven. Bombers are driven by hatred. I wonder if they would submit to a horrendous death of themselves only with no one else as opposed to an explosion that instantly kills them and as many people as they hatefully can kill.

According to them, they *are* dying for a text - namely, the Quran. There are others who have sacrifced themselves in the name of religion: Kamikazis are one. Furthermore there are people who have sacrificed themselves for ideals: Patriots from every nation. There are tons of other examples.
