Exactly right! The tradition or at least, tendency for the Republican party is that we raise much more of our campaign funding from the individual, grassroots voter. The big money groups tend to go to Dems and the corporations usually donate to both parties to cover their bets. Fred is a truly “grassroots” phenomenon. I signed up at http://draftfredthompson.com/index.php in mid January and have watched this explode in a way I didn’t dare hope. I have been praying and hoping for Thompson to make a run for the Whitehouse since his first term in the Senate.
I’m not alone.
I can’t count the number of times that I’ve seen the moment of realization pass across peoples faces, usually accompanied by “Oh, That Fred Thompson!” when I propose his candidacy.
