We need to bring back mandatory military service for all young men and women in the USA.

Sorry, Bro, but you are wrong on this one.
Ask any active-duty personnel and they will tell you a draft is very bad idea.
They only want someone next to them and behind them who WANTS to be there.
Re-instate the draft, and you really will see a charlie-foxtrot of the first order.
The draft was the over-riding issue during Viet Nam.
We do not need another one.
We have enough to deal with now.

Second that -- from the wife of a Vietnam-era vet (they never shipped him overseas).

The draftees in his unit were more trouble than they were worth. Two of them they didn't even issue ammunition to.

Plus, the liberal moonbats all want a draft so they can get the cowardly and lazy college students on board for anti-draft riots. . . just like the LAST time.

No thanks. Let the warriors do their job.

concretebob:

I don’t mean the draft as it was during the VietNam era. I mean 100% across the board no-deferments mandatory 2 years minimum military service. Share the wealth and bounty of living in the greatest country ever known, share the sacrifice. If all young folks coming of age knew this was the law of the land, as in Israel for example, it would eventually become a point of pride, as it once was back when.
