Mitt Romney is riding high this week after his victory in "the first primary," which consists of raising cold, hard cash to compete: more than $20 million in the first quarter, $5 million more than his closest contender, Rudy "Lay off my wife!" Giuliani. John McCain came in a lackluster third with $12.5 million.
Romney's campaign benefited from two distinct donor networks, according to media accounts: Wall Street and Mormons. GOP front-runner Rudy, struggling with one of those weird media freak shows erupting around his wife, Judith (her alleged participation in future Cabinet meetings and former puppy killings), must be a little envious on both counts.
Why is it that all the Dem candidates are still married to their first spouse, while among the current crop of leading GOP contenders, the only guy with just one wife is the Mormon?
Truth is, I don't think this is just an accident. There's something about Mormons the rest of us ought to pay attention to: Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints do much better than almost any other faith group at sustaining a marriage culture -- and they do this while participating fully and successfully in modern life. Utah is above the national average in both household income and the proportion of adults who are college graduates.

I remember a few years ago when someone got a hold of mormon.com or lds.com and made it into a porn site. That was a hard fight, but some rich mormon had to buy if off them for 100k in order to get them to stop.

If your story is true I would say that LDS is not keepping the Lord Commandments, and I am sure there are about 10% who don’t.

Get a clue, I don’t live by your rules anymore. I am a full time missionary. I serve my Church. I do this by relating my experiences - - just like you did/do. The constitution does not give YOU the right and then turn around and DENY me the same right. We get to speak our ideas. I don’t particularly like your or Joseph Smith’s ideas.
BTW I have a son and daughter in the Army. Full time army. I have two grandchildren that I may have to raise. You see, both of their parents have spent time in the current military zone, and are expected to return within the year.

My dad once said “The devil doesn’t kick a dead dog.” what he was discussing was the tendency for anyone doing good to run into people or circumstances that challenge them to see if they really man it. Satan is not just about fighting “Mormons” or “Christians” he is out to destroy every good thing, stop every good deed, every honest dealing every honorable relationship. As long as you are running into him head on, you are going the right direction.

It is a shame. These threads aren’t about SLC or Utah or the Mormon religion. Romney isn’t a super-Mormon anyway. He’s just a candidate. No other candidate gets this much attention to their religion.

Where exactly do you think I LIVE. Where do you think I raised my son. Where do you think my father lived, and his father, and my brother. I have had a direct family member in every major military action since WW1.
Just wanted to point out your slander of me. I have never slandered you seven. It’s amazing that I am called the “hater” simply because I have been chosen to point out the inconsistencies in Mormonism.
I may vilify Islam, but I do NOT vilify the Islamic members of our fighting service who protect my right to do so. Nor have I ever, EVER vilified LDS service men. I disagree with their religion. I value their sacrifice.
