Mitt Romney is riding high this week after his victory in "the first primary," which consists of raising cold, hard cash to compete: more than $20 million in the first quarter, $5 million more than his closest contender, Rudy "Lay off my wife!" Giuliani. John McCain came in a lackluster third with $12.5 million.
Romney's campaign benefited from two distinct donor networks, according to media accounts: Wall Street and Mormons. GOP front-runner Rudy, struggling with one of those weird media freak shows erupting around his wife, Judith (her alleged participation in future Cabinet meetings and former puppy killings), must be a little envious on both counts.
Why is it that all the Dem candidates are still married to their first spouse, while among the current crop of leading GOP contenders, the only guy with just one wife is the Mormon?
Truth is, I don't think this is just an accident. There's something about Mormons the rest of us ought to pay attention to: Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints do much better than almost any other faith group at sustaining a marriage culture -- and they do this while participating fully and successfully in modern life. Utah is above the national average in both household income and the proportion of adults who are college graduates.

I know you are fix on the way you see & beleive these things, but as I search the scriptures what you hold true is not what the scriptures are testifying to and it is very enlighting!
It just happens to be the first one I happened to view when I looked on the computer again.
All I can say is you are wrong. Who are you to say what these forums are about. Do you personally own them? If you do, cut me off. That will show what Mormonazi-ism really is about.
Your reasoning, that lack of excitement was my reason for leaving the Church, is ridiculous as well. Most of the kids I knew were bored in church, I just had the courage, eventually, to throw off all the phony pretending and go my way.
The rest of your post is nearly incomprehensible.
Could it be another of your vast family who is a member has that calling and sent her a card!
I use to have that calling!
You have strong feeling against the Church, but you have always been civil in the hardest of situation, after you have push our buttons!:)
I still respect you, even if we disagree, and don’t quite comprehend each-other,
It’s not easy to say or see where the line is that we should not cross.
Western Christians are mostly compelled by their various doctrine to go out and proselytize. The problem is that mostly they forget that, really, they don’t have a monopoly on GOD.
The Mormon religion pretends to have that kind of monopoly and those of us that know better, resent being told that if we don’t do this and that and such and such, we “won’t receive the highest reward in Heaven”. Or in other cases we might burn in hell, or blah, blah, blah.
My experience is that the universe is bigger and older and “God” is more incomprehensible yet more merciful than all the religious fanatics would like folks to think.
Think of all the poor Muslims who have such religious fervor that they would explode themselves and scores or even thousands of Innocent people because they “believe” in their religion.
It is obvious to me that just a “burning in the bosom” is not enough to discern true doctrine from that which is false.
I here and now pray, that God shall bless us all, those who have participated on this thread and even every other soul, out in this world, with love and wisdom, that we may find common ground and not be so intent on finding fault with one-another.
In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen
( But I'd still rather find a better candidate than Mitt! )
Hello Legrande.
Fancy meeting you one this thread after over 1000 posts. I suppose you too are having a hard time leaving the Church alone.
Perhaps you could use that site I suggested.
By best to you,
CC
Again, I will ask the question.....why is she listed on the Church database?
Regardless of whether or not her mother was a member at age eight. SHE never was and I did not give the Church family information....nor did anyone else in our immediate family. Perhaps everyone out there should wonder, “has some distant relative given my vital information to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (the Mormons.)”
Perhaps that is how they keep tracking you down?
LOL! That video was amazing!
I certainly hope we are doing such an adequate job of the traveling the traffic of this thread without killing anyone.
BTW. I just had someone stop right in the middle of the intersection of FR and the thread, and give me the finger. He even yelled, “You are a bitter old hag.”
I’ll just keep going or there will be a complete traffic jamb.
LeGrande, please see my post #882.
Rather reminiscent of my love life, too...
There’s the liberty we’ve all come to know and recognize...
I thought you were through posting to me?
Thank you! This is the best thing I've heard in several days!! So let it be written, so let it be done!
LOL! Nice one.
Let’s not run anyone over here either.
Here is a number of someone who can help at Church HQ. Call them, ask they why, and ask they to remove both you and your daughters name and anyone else they might have associated with you because your name remains on the records.
It’s really easy, 1 call that’s all.
(801) 240-1000
I’m afraid to ask. Surely you don’t mean you’ve had that much traffic? ;-)
Certainly that disorganized and unproductive, anyway. There’s been a lot of honking.
i’m not voting for a mormon, thanks.
i’ve extensive experience living among mormons and they suck.
Seven, again you miss my point. If anyone can add names to the list, then what is the reason for having them removed. If an extended family member is able to just add them again.
Do you understand my point now? Someone (not a direct family member or ward member added her - not me nor anyone else in our direct family). They could just as easily add me again, right?
