Democrats Remain in Front (GOP Nation map shows red states turning blue.)
GOP Nation Blog ^ | April 4, 2007

Posted on 04/05/2007 5:29:36 PM PDT by no dems

Our latest electoral college map shows that regardless of candidate, if the election were held today, a Democrat would be elected to the nation’s highest office. Red states that would flip include: Nevada, Colorado, New Mexico, Missouri, Iowa, Arkansas, Ohio and West Virginia. No Blue state would become red. The count would be: Democrats, 306, Republicans 232.

A lot of Californians are Republicans, too. Are you contending that only {or primarily} Liberal Californians are prone to move and only to NV, CO and NM?

The election won’t be held today. When it is held the rats will lose.

The gains he might make in the Northeast would probably not be enough to offset the loss of traditonal red states simply from those who stay home.

Red politicians are turning blue.

... meaning that politicians claiming to represent Red State people are acting like Blue State politicians. (Rudy, etc.)

>>If given a choice between a Democrat and a liberal Republican, I’d sit out the election.<<

So you are ok having Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid calling the shots and preparing for the humiliation of the US.

The logic spewed by some around here is amazing

Not True.

NM is going blue because of the invasion from California, not Mexico. This place has a lot of Mexican Republicans, but the limo liberals coming here to retire from their liberal hell holes are turning the place blue.

I personally don’t care about any of those issues. Just as I really don’t care that Rudy wore a dress at a fundraiser, or that he had to dump his b*tch 2nd wife and found someone he’s happy with. Simiarly, I also don’t care that Thompson has a hot young wife.

But the MSM is ready to unload on Thompson when he gets the nomination. and when you are a candidate that many people don’t know, early negative spin against you can define you and put you into a hole you can’t crawl out of.

I’ve always held that the “realignment” in favor of the GOP was {sadly} just a short counter-trend.

Me too. That Syria trip is just the beginning. These fools can’t control themselves.

are western states like Arizona et al, becoming more liberal, or more conservative? look at who they are electing, who is governor of Arizona?

I only comment on what I see from the trends.

I'm not surprised. If given a choice between a Democrat and a liberal Republican, I'd sit out the election.

That is exactly what I did in the CA governor's race. I could not support Arnold. Left governor blank, then voted R from McClintock on down.

Then why is Fred Thompson moving up in the polls without spending a dime?

Because he is picking up the "anybody but Rudy" crowd and is well-known, albeit NOT for his political experience.

To win the nomination he has to win BIG on February 5. That's a lot of large states that will require money and organization to win. Many of those large states will be good ones for Rudy.

Fred really needed to start working on this after he left the Senate. Instead he's ten months out and still not in and not ready.

I think Bush {and Rove} believe they ARE taking the long view.

I really don't think Bush has a coherent strategy on immigration.

The long view would have been my win-win strategy. Passed by a Republican House and Senate, then signed by a Republican president, he could have brought Hispanics to the Republican party for generations, but he just couldn't see his way clear to work with fellow Republicans. The media will credit the Democrats with anything signed now.

Bush blew a huge opportunity for what? Nothing!

Yeah, the GOP needs to do this at the grass-roots level. There’s no reason to widen the tent, and amnesty wouldn’t begin to do that.

This map is based on...what?

There are no references, nothing to indicate that this wasn’t just pulled out of someone’s butt.
