Our latest electoral college map shows that regardless of candidate, if the election were held today, a Democrat would be elected to the nations highest office. Red states that would flip include: Nevada, Colorado, New Mexico, Missouri, Iowa, Arkansas, Ohio and West Virginia. No Blue state would become red. The count would be: Democrats, 306, Republicans 232.

It has yet to dawn on the Dems that the war in Iraq will be over and the troops home by the time of the next election. What will they have as an issue then?

That only works when you have a President who doesn’t play “go along to get along”. One that is willing to use the veto pen. Like Reagan and Clinton. Bush is kind of squishy on everything but national security.

Hey, RNC: Get back to the Conservative PrinciplesTHAT's what you deduced from this article? Are you kidding me? You all will just have to come to grips with the fact that America has become a more moderate nation. I can't wait to hear your logic...Republican States are turning more Dem, so the solution is for the Republicans to become MORE extreme?

The denial about this country’s shift to the center amongst many here is positively frightening.

Rudy is Hillary in a man's suit. You know, saying this over and over doesn't make it so. It just shows your ignorance, stubborness and inability to see things the way they really are out there.

You mean that principled conservatives like Hunter or Gingrich, not to mention Thompson, are losers? After all, there is no hope for liberal Rudy to win, but man oh man, how about the chances of those true conservative candidates?
The article indicates that, regardless of candidate, if the election were held today, a Democrat would be elected to the nations highest office. So, why the heck have we been fighting?
We're done, that's it, it's over folks, burn baby burn!

Illegal immigration and free trade is killing the GOP. Get on the right side of these two issues and the blue collar Reagan Democrats will come back to the GOP. Reagan Dems get it, win on conservative issues mean nothing if the GOP support corporate offshoring of jobs, illegal immigrants taking jobs and H-1B workers depressing wages of tech workers that puts them out of a job. Hard to be conservative when you can’t keep your job and feed your family. I wish human cloning was not illegal, because I would like to clone Ronald Reagan.

getting 44% of Hispanics is pretty good, you are suggesting we toss that away, you want LESS votes from this demographic?
you don’t need a majority of every single voter demographic to win an election, you get majorities of some, minorities of others, and its that combination adding up to enough to win, that is the goal.

Nevada just elected a Republican governor; conservatives are two of three representatives; we have a Republican senator.
At worst it should be a shaded red state.
I think this Ron Paul libertarian website is shaded blue or solid blue.

I agree. Right now, the country just isn’t in a conservative lovin’ mood. They told them where to stick in in 2006, and yet too many folks just won’t get it.

It’s a long way between here and there! It’s time the country come together on some big issues, even if it means alienating eternally petulant, angry fringe groups.

Illegal immigration and free trade is killing the GOP. The GOP has to appeal to more people it has alienated - their inaction on illegal immigration hasn't helped (though Tancredo is a poor - and polarizing - spokesman on the issue for us), and American jobs going overseas hasn't helped either.
Wait and see.

Rudy and Hillary have virtually the same positions on:
Abortion.
Gun control.
Open borders.
Gay rights
Taxes. NYC budget went from $2 to over $8 billion under Mayor Rudy.
Judges. Rudy appointed liberals as judges 8 to 1 over Republicans.
I'm willing to learn, you tell me, how are Rudy and Hillary different?
