“If he wins the nomination will you vote for the Democrat or third party?”

Probably sit it out, and start planning to buy land in Australia.

I’m in Vegas and have experience with Mormons, Mormon politicians and Harry Reid. Simply will not vote for a Mormon for president, any more than I would vote for Tom Cruise the Scientologist - I believe they are on the same level.

Do I believe all Mormons are rotten? Certainly not. Just don’t believe anyone who has their finger on the button should believe they are headed to becoming a God. I believe that dementia is what drives Harry Reid, and I’ve met others like him.

Not that facts matter to a fool like you, but this is your first post to me on that thread; previous to that I had not posted to you or even heard of you.

1) Rudy is a baby killer and gun grabbing leftist, and you love him for it.

I didn’t respond.

2) Your next post was filled with stuff about how Rudy isn’t a fiscal conservative.

3) I responded this way:

Gosh, who to believe about whether Rudy is a fiscal conservative? GovernmentIsTheProblem or FrontPage magazine, Newt Gingrich, George Will or a host of others?

One of many articles about Rudy’s fiscal conservatism:

Nothing snotty about that.

4) You responded this way:

That’s a logical fallacy - appeal to authority.

I cited specific facts which aren’t in the article you listed.

Use your mushy peach and respond to what I wrote, not with a red herring.

Maybe Will and FPM didn’t know about what I posted?

Anyway, calling someone conservative who opposes the right to keep and bear arms and supports abortion and bill clinton is just paradoxical.

You are correct about one thing: You didn’t call me a Rutard.

Given your level of commentary, right off the bat before we’d even had a discussion, I can see that I was right to ignore you and in fact deride your posts. And you are back on ignore but I chose to point out that you lied when you said I rudely asked for links to your post.

Toodles.

“Rudy is a baby killer and gun grabbing leftist, and you love him for it.”

So either you like him for his positions, or you like him despite them. Which is it?

The post you previously made makes you look pretty bad. I didn’t call you names except “mushy peach” after you called my facts mushy. I showed they aren’t but you never responded. You argued everything but the points. Pretty slick.

Hey Genius:

I'm a Rudy supporter, a Romney supporter, a THompson supporter or even a Hunter supporter if he could get his sorry butt out of the cellar.

I will support the nominee. I will make my decision when the time comes (based on who I think can kick the Bitch best)....however my gut tells me that Romney will take it to the WH.

I will not vote for someone who believes they are on the path to becoming God.

The bible calls it "becoming joint heirs with Christ" Your priorities may not lie with where the leadership of the nation needs to point, but mine does. Cheers.

I’m with you, Zarf — I’m pulling the lever for whomever gets the nomination and in the interim pulling for my candidate. That puts us in a separate class from the Drama Queens who dislike everybody who has actually announced or can win. LOL

While your busy sending up smoke signals, the rest of us will be voting.

When they start letting the public vote for the Pope, let us know.

"If he wins the nomination will you vote for the Democrat or third party?"

I'm not concerned in the least about Mitt Romney's faith. Although I'm not a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I grew up in a LDS community in Utah. I'm one of the 8% in the country (from a recent poll) who are more likely to vote for someone of the Mormon faith. Since only 1.6% of the U.S. population is LDS, there must be many more in the country who feel as I do.

For the rest of my response that begins with the paragraph above already posted at Free Republic, please use the following direct link to my post #66 on a different thread that I'll title "I remember the LDS..."

[The doctrine of becoming an heir of God through the gospel of Jesus Christ was noted by Paul (Rom. 8:14-17; Gal. 3:26-29; 4:1-7; see also Calling and Election; Church of the Firstborn). In this connection, THE CHURCH of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-day Saints teaches that all humans are spirit sons and daughters of God, with the potential of inheriting all that the Father has (D&C 84:33-38). Every member of the human family is a child of God. However, through obedience to the gospel of Jesus Christ, including having faith, love, charity, and participating in temple ordinances and sealings, men and women can become heirs of God in a special way. Such persons are called the “children of Christ, his sons and his daughters,” being “spiritually begotten” by him (Mosiah 5:7). They will be exalted in the Celestial Kingdom. Members of the Church make several covenants with God, beginning with baptism and continuing through the temple Endowment and marriage, by which they promise to obey God’s commandments and to consecrate to him all that they possess in order to become heirs through Christ in the Father’s kingdom. Such may eventually be exalted by God and be given many divine powers, including eternal increase.

Yup, you guys are on a fast track to nuts. Are you telling us you aren’t bothered that Romney believes he may “eventually be exalted by God and be given many divine powers, including eternal increase.” ? ?

It’s just like Muslims who believe they will get 72 virgins, only you guys believe you get to be God! Sorry, no can trust you with the nuklar button amigo.

So what do you think Paul meant? Use the references you quoted...

The rest of the country is perfectly happy with these three.

So because 69% of people surveyed in one of our smallest states support one of these three over all the other crap candidates we have to choose from, that leads you to conclude that the entire country outside of FR is "perfectly happy" with the choices? Flawless reasoning there.

I accept being under God’s dominion and having a close relationship with the divine, but theologically and philosophically promoting humans to Godhead is bizarre and quite dangerous. That’s why Mormons are held in distain by Christian denominations. Godhead leads to a sense of unmitigated ego and hubris (a la Harry Reid). I am not the only one who will feel this way come elections.

Basically, Mormons are a polytheistic cult that believes in ancestor worship. They believe in Baptism of the dead, becoming Gods, secret rites, celestial polygamy, etc. etc.
No can do on el voto.

Well, since you won’t post your own references that you claim make us so evil, I’ll do it for you, plus a few more. The doctrine to be a joint heir with Christ is sacred and holy to many trying to overcome the world, to be mroe like Christ in word, action and thought.

Gen. 3: 22 man is become as one of us.
Ps. 82: 6 ye are gods, and all of you are children of the most High.
Matt. 5: 48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father.
John 10: 34 (Ps. 82: 1-8; D&C 76: 58) Is it not written in your law . . . Ye are gods.
Acts 17: 29 we are the offspring of God.
Rom. 8: 17 heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ.
2 Cor. 3: 18 changed into the same image from glory to glory.
Gal. 4: 7 if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
Eph. 4: 13 Till we all come . . . unto a perfect man.
1 Jn. 3: 2 when he shall appear, we shall be like him.
Rev. 3: 21 him that overcometh will . . . sit with me in my throne.
Matt. 25: 21. Thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

Just as a follow up to that, to truly understand another is to learn about them, rather than go off half cocked ready to fight.

Heirs of Christ! Heirs, not their own little Christs running their own worlds with multiple Celestial polygamous marriages worshiping the great Kolub on his Planet in the middle of the Galaxy. And I am not half cocked, I’ve been through this Mormon baloney backwards and forwards and it always comes out the same - the result of a rock crystal gazing, pirate treasure hunting, Joseph Smith who was heavy into Masonic occult mysticism and used his religious stature to get into the pantaloons of a bunch of women.

I never said Mormons were evil, I will say they are potentially delusional false prophets and not to be placed in the presidential office.

Now, you can certainly label me bigoted or whatever you like, but that will not change the fact that a measurable percentage of fundamentalist Christians are never going to vote for Mitt Romney for the above mentioned reasons.
