I live in Maryland ,and I worked hard for Ehrlich and for Steele . The fact is that the National Republican party wrote us off. Our own republican party was almost as bad, they didnt even put up a candidate against Steny Hoyer.I had to vote for the Green party guy,I cant even remember his name.

Our greatest problem is Montgomery County ,where all the liberals gather to get outside of DC. They ran from the city but they brought their liberal crap with them. Prince Georges County is where all the refugee blacks came when crime ran them from DC and affirmative action Gubmint jobs gave them money enough to afford the big houses they bought in the suburbs, but they also brought their liberal crap with them. Baltimore City is mostly black and Democrat ,these three places are so populated that their votes overwhelm the rest of the state, and we end up with democrats who cater to liberals and blacks making the choices for the rest of us.

Look at the issues in this thread. In-State tuition for illegals immigrants-voting right for felons. What race has the largest percent of felons and what party will those felons vote for? The destruction of the electoral college, Only the Dimmicrats want that. O’Malley wants to do away with the death penalty.

Yes: The Democrats own this state and they are driving it into the ground,but it isnt what we deserve. We are trying and we are growing,but its a long tough road especially when we have all those Gubmint benefactors of Democrat initiatives moving in on us all the time from DC.

Your post #15 was very interesting. You clearly outline why Maryland is as it is. But then you go on to state that all these developments are driving the state into the ground (actually, sir, it's been that way for a long time; I lived in the Washington area from 1967 to 1997 and all I can remember about your state is Democrats and their graft and corruption). Nothing has changed or is likely to ever change.

It seems to me that you and other decent people should emigrate to states where you can enjoy the benefits of their laws (i.e., lower taxes, fewer regulations, concealed carry laws that actually allow you to carry, and the such) and help out with the voting. Virginia and North Carolina, traditional Republican conservative states, are both under siege from Yankee liberals who have moved in. In Virginia it's the infestation in Northern Virginia (that got that state Sen. Webb in the last election) and in North Carolina it's the Triangle.

In other words, give up on a state that can't be turned around and help states that are in danger and which can be turned around.

You’re right. I grew up in Cumberland in the 60’s and 70’s; clean, mostly crime free. A few prosperous factories employed the overwhelmingly white work force. A place that’ll never exist again. The liberals, not satisfied with trashing Baltimore are turning west. They buy McMansions in Garrett County. Now I think more arrests are made for drugs on Rt 68 rather than speeding.
