I have a somewhat different take. IMHO this is why women shouldn't be in the military. My belief is that some or all felt some need to protect the woman and thereby gave in to the Iranians demands.

I would not serve with any women in any branch of the military (in field deployment) for purely practical reasons. Most, if not all, couldn't drag my wounded 200 pound ass plus gear two feet let alone 200 feet. Also it is my firm belief having been very close to captured by some very pissed off people in VN that if you can't look at your buddy and shoot him at his request to save him from torture then you also have no business in the field.

Sad to say, but I agree with you, to a point. I think a woman could drag your 200lb a$$ IF SHE WANTED/NEEDED to, and if she was scared / ticked off enough. But, the part about the guys making concessions based on protecting the wimmen folk we agree on. In a way, I feel sorry for guys today. We tell you we can do it ourselves, then we get mad at you when you let us! As my DH says, sometimes ya just can’t win!

I think women should be allowed in a war zone, but only to torture the enemy. Seriously.
