If it wasn’t for the English, you’d be speaking French or Spanish and would be living in a third world country.I'm not sure what the Brits did to remove French and/or Spanish influence from North America. After booting the Brits we simply did what Americans do best... We went on a shopping spree! Purchasing land from Spain, France, Russia and kicked the Mexicans back over the Rio Grande.
Actually the largest group of immigrants in America are the Germans at 43 million, second are the Irish at 27 million and third are the English (including Scotland and Wales) at 24 million which works out to be about 8%.
We speak English because we like the way the Brits sound. And America has never been third world. We are the NEW WORLD, and you're welcome to it.
