Well, if you believe that, I can see why you think Giuliani is acceptable. You got a lot to learn, young_"conservative."
You are putting me in an uncomfortable position. Defending Clinton is like trying to pull out an infected tooth. Critisizing the President is even more painfull. I love the President Bush. I couldnt stand Clinton for his dishonestly and misguided ways.
But Clinton was not a “big government” President. Wellfare reform. Pro economic growth.
President Bush on the other hand makes Lyndon Johnson look like fiscal moderate.
Can someone who is familiar with NYC elections explain something to me? In doing some research on Rudy, I see that in 93 when he ran he ran on both the Republican and LIBERAL party tickets. I can’t seem to find answers on what the purpose was running on the Liberal ticket and how that came to be.
As much as I hate to say it, I think we’re going to have to put up a nominee that is a little closer to the center to win this time. We were in much better shape in 04 and Kerry was a fairly weak candidate and we were still only one state away from losing. Unfortunately, I just don’t see Fred Thompson being able to do it...maybe I’m wrong. I think Mitt would get smoked in the general, McCain or Giuliani may be the best chance. I haven’t decided yet. I’d rather end up with a moderate Republican rather than a liberal Democrat if that’s what it takes to win what looks to be a very tough 08 election.
