Rudy is not stupid — he understands that today “alternative energy” is only talk, but he does say: “The ultimate goal, however, should be renewable sources of energy.”
This makes sense — the highest priority is to become energy independent and the ONLY way to do that today is by drilling for oil in areas that we control, build nuclear power plants and IF and WHEN “alternative energy” matures, sure, let’s use it too.
France gets 80% of their energy from nuclear power and it’s a small, densely populated country. If they can do it, it’s high time we do the same. We could use nuclear energy for industry and electricity for homes, etc. and only use oil for cars — getting it from domestic production and let’s watch the price of oil plummet and Iran go bankrupt.
Sounds like a good plan.
Giuliani for president in 2008!
On February 12, 2007, Giuliani said "I do believe there's global warming, yes. The big question has always been how much of it is happening because of natural climate changes and how much of it is happening because of human intervention. The overwhelming number of scientists now believe that there is significant human cause." He said the debate on the existence of global warming "is almost unnecessary ... because we should be dealing with pollution anyway." [1]
Before you run off in 3 directions at once shaking your pom poms, keep in kind talk is cheap, and your dealing with an electorate that votes based on emotion and not sound reasoning.
also here’s a little article to read and weigh its offerings amidst the current envirowacko age we live in..

I've been saying that for 30 years.
Liquids are portable, ergo use liquids in machines that are portable (cars, buses, trains, planes). Non-portable enrgy for entities whaich are non-portable energy consuming. Seems pretty simple to me...
