Republican presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani on Wednesday said everything has to be considered if the United States wants to break its reliance on foreign oil, including more drilling off Florida's coast.
Calling the energy supply a major domestic problem, Giuliani said the nation needs to focus on nuclear power production and renewable energy sources. In the meantime it also needs to see what oil can be tapped, he said.
"Energy independence means everything has to be open for discussion," Giuliani said when asked about offshore drilling. "The idea of having more oil under our command, so to speak, or within our orbit probably for some period of time is going to be important. The ultimate goal, however, should be renewable sources of energy."

Maybe Rudy could use tax payer money to fund research on how to use the tax payer funded abortion products to fuel our cars.Different topic.
Eneregy independence is part of national security. Without national security, not much else matters. Or is it just a pesky problem that will go away?

+1 to Rudy on this...although i am not a supporter of his, how does he think Florida will go for this?...i can’t speak for California but i know that Florida will fight this tooth and nail...my state is saturated with oil rigs on its small coast (AL)...it ticks me that FL won’t be a player and my state probably uses an 1/8th of energy in comparison.

You're talking about a man who would pay to have his daughter get an abortion.Apparently he would also smile while writing the check or try to bill the government for the cost of that daughter's constitutional "right."

We could use nuclear energy for industry and electricity for homes, etc. and only use oil for cars getting it from domestic production.I've been saying that for 30 years.
Liquids are portable, ergo use liquids in machines that are portable (cars, buses, trains, planes). Non-portable enrgy for entities whaich are non-portable energy consuming. Seems pretty simple to me...

Only an idiot would vote for Giuliani.
Your opinion and 4.00 bucks will buy a cup of coffee at Starbucks. I could say the same about voting for a loser like Duncan Hunter.

everything has to be considered if the United States
wants to break its reliance on foreign oil So if Guiliani is considering "Too", what prevents him from considering Not "Too"?
Kerry tried to play both side of the fence through both sides of his mouth also.
Why can't Guiliani just say "YES" I support drilling?
I want direct answers to direct questions, not "we'll see".

Guess what? Being President is about DOMESTIC and FOREIGN POLICY issues simultaneously. If Rudy is a one trick pony than he should put his name up for a cabinet position.
The terrorists would be very happy if we started using our tax dollars to kill our future generations because we are afraid of them.

Exactly what? Because we are at war we should use tax payer dollars to kill our own children?

I could say the same about voting for a loser like Duncan Hunter Hunter served in one of the most dangerous assignments in Vietnam, while Rudy was hiding under his desk at law school.

He’s right on this one. Too bad he’s wrong on so many other issues. He would make an EXCELLENT senator from New Jersey.

The “personally opposed” line is used by all pro-choice politicians. It’s a contradiction in terms.
“I personally oppose murder, but I support your right to choose it.”
Not really so good-looking when you put it that way.
