I saw the movie Westward the Women when I was a kid and loved it. I found it on the e-bay a few weeks ago and bought it. I absolutely loved seeing it again!

My sisters and I watch it regularly.

We knew that a section of the old movie was missing from the original—the scenes where they cross the desert. We all separately remembered scenes in which Patience finally leaves her bell behind and other women walked away from their treasures—without caring or looking back.

I wrote to MGM, and I asked them if part of the movie had been lost to decomposition. A really great guy wrote to me. He said that he’d never seen the movie; but my interest in it bled over to him. He checked out the script; and nothing was missing. HE SENT ME THE SCRIPT!!! I have the written script of that great movie!!!

We loved reading through it...but my sisters and I STILL remember missing scenes.

When VHS’s began printing old movies, I watched and waited for Westward the Women AND the old version of The Haunting. Both remembered from my youth—and both my favorites!

(I’m sorry to be so long-winded: I do love this old movie, and it’s great to find someone else who appreciates it!)
