If you will recall, last August, the IDF was making their biggest push into southern Lebanon and at the same time, France and the U.S. were frantically pushing the cease-fire resolution at the U.N..... which came just at the time there were the most Israeli troops in So. Lebanon.
Granted, the Israeli political leadership was wussy but it seemed their generals were making some headway, and other players on the “international scene” did not want to see a resounding defeat of Hezbullah. I’m not sure all blame rests with Israel.
The point is that Savage’s rantings at the time were of the “throw the baby out with the bathwater” type, which is very typical of him and is more an indicator of his wild moodiness than of any political acumen.
The IDF putzed around for about a month with nothing much to show for it. Weak.
