No, they are not suprised, and theydo want to leave. They want their granddaughter to grow up around other kids. What they don't want is for their granddaughter to be placed in foster care if it takes longer than they hope for them to sell their house. I don't think that's unreasonable. The HOA should cut them some slack.

And now I’m wondering if someone in the neighborhood is hoping to get that home at a fire sale price, thinking the couple will sell at a loss in order to keep from having the little girl placed in foster care.
