It is really sad our older folks are removing themselves from everyone’s life. You would think older folks would enjoy youth around.

The will sow what they reap for the young will not care about them when they want free medical care and to be taken care of when they are older and will get what they deserve.

My wife and I actually have lived in a condo with NO age restrictions. Parents would just let the kids do anything they want. We would wake up early in the morning with little brats throwing bricks down on the sidewalk...

I now live in a age restricted condo and let me tell you, it is almost like living in heaven...

I remember when my childhood neighborhood had a clause about blacks. By the time I was in college, there must have been a legal ruling that outlawed such clauses. I wonder what the difference is between banning races vs. banning children.

Florida Law provides that you can have a specific percentage of under 55 people in a age restricted community without breaking the violation.

This was specifically written to adress issues like this. This also was to take into consideration the elderly being taken care of by their adult children.

There are cases which have incorportated the fair housing rules also,

687 So.2d 296

22 Fla. L. Weekly D246

WESTWOOD COMMUNITY TWO ASSOCIATION, INC., etc., Appellant,
v.
John L. LEWIS and Peter C. Martin, Appellees.

No. 96-0342.

District Court of Appeal of Florida,
Fourth District.

Jan. 22, 1997.
Rehearing and Clarification Denied Feb. 27, 1997.

Which affirmed a lower court ruling tossing an age restriction as a violation of the fair housing rule because it sought to keep children out in order to discriminate for seniors.
