To: Names Ash Housewares
I see the flag displayed like that a lot at football game halftime shows, in parades, etc. However, it is at variance with Federal Law to do so.

United States Code Title 4, Chapter 1, Section 8, paragraph (c) states:

(c) The flag should never be carried flat or horizontally, but always aloft and free.

If that is the case, then every military funeral is also at variance with both paragraphs (b) and (c) of the Federal Law you cite.

I remember being taught flag etiquette in elementary school. Bet they're not teaching it now. BTW, I'm 63, so you can tell how long ago that was.
