Of course you would have a loaded gun if you were carrying it.
But if you are putting it in a bag to be transported to your office, I should hope you would unload it first. You wouldn't ship your weapon loaded, right?
To: CharlesWayneCT
Ladies and gentlemen: it was PROBABLY unloaded. The Mighty Media Monolith thinks a semiauto is loaded by just slipping the mag into place. I'll bet this gun had no round in the chamber, and was thus unloaded. If when you drop the hammer, it doesn't fire...it is unloaded.

When I transport my carry, I carry it. I don't put it in a bag.
The only guns I put in a "bag" is my range bag. And I never leave a weapon in the car.

The common argument against allowing citizens to own guns is that people can't be trusted to handle them properly and to behave responsibly.
We all know this statement is incorrect.
Here's the fact. Senators who are member's of the Democratic party can't be trusted to handle guns properly and to behave responsibly.

after you misplaced it in one of your three cars, is equally useless as protection.I don't keep guns in my cars. I wear my carry, and transport guns to the range. When at home, there are three loaded guns and the rest are stored in my gun safe.

Senator Webb is a very angry and arrogant man with "self-control issues." I am very uncomfortable with the idea of him packing a piece in Washington. Under the right circumstances, someone could get hurt -- or killed -- for political reasons.

The NRA and the GOP have commissioned Smith & Wesson to design a new wheel gun for sale to democrats only. This design was originally conceived by Leonardo de Vinci.
Pretty neat, huh?If more of these were in use, there'd be no need for forensic personnel.

It would help the aide if Webb said he gave the aide the bags but did not inform said aide there was a gun in the bag. Webb was not clear at all about what happened. Since Webb was not forthright and honest, but instead obfuscated, he looks like he has something to hide.
To: CharlesWayneCT
He also failed to maintain control of the weapon, a cardinal sin for anyone claiming the title of former Marine.
A Marine knows where his weapon is at all times.
