Brush Fire Burns In Hollywood Hills Near Barham Boulevard
I'm guessing the cemetary is is no real danger.
The sprinklers did work last time I was there.
If Marilyn Monre evacuates, I won't fault anyone who follows.
Well of course not. If this was south Texas , yall wouldn't know either.
I knew that was coming and beat you to it in #45.
I heard on the news on the way to work (around 1:45pm) this lady called in the news station. They were just wrapping up a funeral service and were about to do the graveside and the fire batallion chief came in and told them they had to evacuate! There will be no graveside service.
My dad's in a moseleum there at forest lawn.
I thought Marilyn was in Westwood. Did they move her?
My company's office is on West Olive - right in the smoke plume. It's Friday, so they've probably all gone home early. ;)
I saw it from the 101 around Woodland Hills at 2PM. Quittin' time came early today.
Or maybe Papoo's Hot Dog Show
You would think that regular posters on this board would have above average intelligence. Unfortunately, some FReepers know NOTHING about the subject, and yet post as if they are either experts or comedians.
Yeah, that Hot Dog Circus place! I remember that. I ate there a number of times. I remember running into and meeting actress Eve Brent (who once played Jane to Tarzan!) there one time. Glad to know it's still there, too. Haven't been out in that vicinity since '92.
I was in LA in Dec. I offered to take my aunt to anywhere she wanted go, to eat dinner. Of all the great places yall have, she insisted on Dennys.
California Freepers learn quickly that everyone else wishes the worst for our state.
Nope. You're right. She's not at Forest Lawn.
Don't know why I thought that.
Calling Emily Latella.....
Everything they know about California they learned from television - which is taken to be a totally source of information about places they have never visited and a totally unreliable source of information about conservative politicians they have never met. ;)
That painting is at the Forest Lawn in South Glendale.
The fire is closer to the Forest Lawn in Burbank.
The stuff threatened is a beautiful replica of the Old North Church, a very large patriotic mural depicting the early history of America, and hundreds of flower arrangements.
What's the status of the fire now? I'm in a news blackout at work. Thx. I pass by the Zoo on my way home (through Griffith Park)
We don't. We are just as fed up with your liberals as yall are though. The difference is yall can get away with the jokes. Others can't.
And yet FR started here. Where would we be without it?
Wow,Hope they get it out fast.
