LONDON (Reuters) - Britain was preparing a response on Friday to a note from the Iranian government about 15 British sailors and marines seized by Iran a week ago.
Speaking after a day of escalating tension between London and Tehran, which pushed oil prices sharply higher, a Foreign Office spokeswoman said Britain was giving "serious consideration" to the note but gave no details.

Iran only exists now at the mercy of Britain and the kindness of the British people and their remarkable restraint.
Britain has enough nuclear weapons as well as the capability of delivering them to send Iran from the 7th century - where it currently exists - back to the paleolithic era.
They would still have more than enough left over to destroy the rest of the Muslim world too if they had the urge.
I Like!
Hey Brits...Let's hope it's not another Neville Chamberlain "piece of paper" reply....
I understand that the next level of escalation is to threaten the use of "the comfy chair"...

With your hatred for some of your allies, you sound positively
Iranian...
I don't hate, Japan, India, Poland, or Czech... what do you mean hate for my allies? I don't recognize western Europe as anything but a problem and traitors to western civilization... where have you been?
Oh... your european... I'm sorry.
Why do you consider Britain to be a nasty bunch of traitors?

Oh, I get it now. You blame all for what some do. Waht of their military in Iraq? What of those being held in Iran? Traitors? I think not.
2/3 of their populace.... you better wake up, they don't like us and will only accept us if we are destroyed economically and as a militarty power. Western Europe hates us- their people want to see us destroyed.
That's alright :-)
Anyhow, western Europe is by far the largest contributor in the war on terror in both personnel, blood and treasure outside the United States.
Not nearly enough I do conceed. The UK certainly has been pulling its fair share. Even the French has had several thousand troops involved in Afghanistan for instance, and its special forces are currently hunting Taliban remnants in Helmand. The Dutch are heavily involved in some of the toughest fighting in South Afghanistan etc.
Tiny Denmark still has troops in southern Iraq. My own country Norway which is currently ruled by a bunch of traitorous leftist bastards just sent our special forces (again) to Afghanistan and we did have troops in Iraq for a couple of years.
Again, not nearly enough, but you oversimplify matters. Most nations are split between people (like me) who want a more robust response and between the appeasing leftists. Incidently the situation is similar even in the United States. Look at what your congress is up to at the moment, and polls generally show that a majority of Americans want to withdraw from Iraq.
Nothing against Eastern Europe btw. Or India lol. Love their food.), and I welcome and cherish their contribution to Europe. Often social conservative vaules, hardy fighters and beautiful women ;-) Unfortunately, and which seems to be often overlooked here on freerepublic is that the Eastern European countries in general have by far lower birth rates than western Europe. It's not all hunky dory there either.
The best we can hope for, and what good people in all our countries must aspire to, is to band together in this fight we're in. We have an evil enemy, plenty of appeasers and traitors at home. The few allies we have in this fight should be valued not scorned.
Cheers.
I am awake and fully aware that most of Europe dislikes us. Maybe they hate us because we have pompous people that call our allies traitors.
maybe they are traitors and I'm just calling a spade a spade. The Pope seems to recognize the problem.
