Captive UK Sailor Says Time to Withdrawn (from Iraq)

A second letter allegedly written by a UK sailor in Iranian custody has been broadcast on Iranian state television.

In the letter, the sailor calls for the withdrawal of British forces from Iraq, according to an al-Hurra report in Arabic, saying that "the time has come" for a UK withdrawal.

If we had a lick of sense, we would have simply declared ourselves out of the U.N. after that debacle before we went into Iraq. We should have told the U.N. to stuff it, just think of the money we would save and how many of those third world backwaters would come running to kiss our evil American backside. It once was that Western man would go to war to protect his wife, daughter, mother. Now we send them to war to protect us, and that is not very noble. And if it is, then why do we allow women into combat situations in the first place? It's hard to make sense of this world anymore.

Agree re: Post #18! I am constantly shaking my head in disbelief at the absolute silence from women's organizations around the world concerning Muslim women and the captured military women and their shameful treatment.

Until all countries treat all women and children with dignity and humanity...then, I think none of us has anything else to talk about!!! Period.
