I don't think anything guarantees a Republican victory! Except maybe a great Republican candidate and even then, nothing is guaranteed. That said, however, I think this is good news for us. But the Republicans need to run on a plank of great ideas.

I hope he runs. The DNC has failed to get us out of Bush's oil war, is weak on Global Warmings and used the peace movement just to get back in power. /s

Go Gore, Go! Run third party! PLEASE!! :) I can't wait to watch the wacky DUmmies eat each other alive! Gore running 3rd party will secure the WIN for the GOP nominee IMO.

This makes no sense. He should be able to win the democratic party nomination, so why would he run 3rd party instead?

It's a threat. He's trying to neuter the Clinton machine before he gets into the Dem primary by blackmailing them with a potential Green Party run. To keep them in check, so to speak.

Gore, his people and the entire Democrat party still hold Ralph Nader personally responsible for 2000. They all know what a Green Party candidacy means to the Democrats. And they all know that if it's Gore, he'll end Hillary's chances in 2008.

It's actually a pretty decent power play by the bloated Leninist. When he enters the race, Hillary's going to be forced to play nice.

Well, that would change the dynamic radically!

I honestly expected a third party candidate, but some one on the right. That would make Hillary or Obama a shoo in. Gore running third party would split the liberal vote, making the GOP much more likely to win.

Interesting.

I see no down sides here.
If AG runs on 3rd party, the Dems will be forced to denounce Global Warming. The Dems will be split and lose votes to the Greens.

Darnit. Al Gore running as a third party candidate is not what we want. They are trying to do the coalition style government that Israel uses.

Break down the entire RAT party into its base elements then build a coalition on that. Republicans would wind up doing the same and as soon as that happens, the Constitution becomes irrelevant.

Give it 10 years.

"....Or Gore saw first hand just how corrupt the Clintons are and will do anything to prevent her from winning?...."

If that indeed is the case, I might just have to re-think my whole evaluation of Big Al.

Big Al would be a patriot, in my book.

He had better not fly anywhere; should he decide to do so; and he should NOT walk alone on his Tenn farm. . .

That said; it would be great news!

Big Al is every bit the corrupt socialist the Clintons are.

This isn't bout patriotism. This is about ambition.

It's always about ambition.

That could be an unintended consequence, but I doubt Al is that forward a thinker. This is all about him.

Regardless, the amount of irrational exuberance on this thread is more than a little striking. So many Freepers really have no clue the kind of people we're dealing with.

Al Gore has no intention of splitting the leftist vote and delivering the election to the Republicans. He knows what the Green Party represents. He was deprived of his Pennsylvania Avenue digs because of them (in his own warped mind). This is a threat.
