Dr Dobson is entitled to his opinion I believe.

Did anyone say he was not?

I agree with you. It produces a lot of people of high integrity.

I love your restraint. Mouth breather is a kind description and probably Dobson's smallest problem. He has a very tenuous grasp on reality like many of his ilk who have been "sacred cows" for far too long.

No, Obamma is United Church of Christ. Church of Christ (at least locally) is a fundamental Christian denomination of very devout born-again Christians.

Let's not go here, folks. Bill Clinton was Baptist as was Jimmy Carter. Hilary is Methodist. Ronald Regan was Presbyterian, I think, can't really remember. He didn't wear his religion on his sleeve either, but he lived the life of a true Christian. If what denomination you belong to is a criteria (which it is unconstitutional to use), then we are truly no longer Americans. We're Sunnis and Shiites who should have been Iraqis, rather than having a litmus test for who is the holiest and who is saved.

I prefer those who live Christian to those who talk Christian.

Worth repeating.

Now Dobson's gone over the edge. Like Gingrich's treatment of his ex-wives qualifies as behavior of an exemplary Christian?

These people start out with good intentions, but somehow succumb to human pride or some other foible, or they wouldn't come out with these foolish statements.

Also, here the Church of Christ is very conservative. The ladies wear dresses, no make-up, and absolutely no pants. The gentlemen wear suits or at least a shirt & tie.

James Dobson can bite it. His day is done. Newt needs to kiss his butt because his moral failings are well known and that is the only way he can overcome them.
Fred, on the other hand, doesn't need to kiss Dobson's butt because he lacks most of those moral failings.

*** DING DING DING *** No more calls; we have a winner!

Well, voting to improve society and taking aways citizens' rights

Where has James Dobson advocated that?

Here they are not as strict. My and my son's godmother was a Church of Christ (yes, he was baptised a Catholic by his uncle, a priest). She taught Sunday School for 35 years and wore pantsuits, lipstick and could quote you chapter and verse on any given topic. She was my GODmother and my son's GRAND GODmother and one of the finest Christian woman I ever knew, save my own sainted mother who was a Methodist until the reparations became the gospel on Sundays instead of the GOSPEL OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST.

Newt has zero chance of getting the nomination for Rep party. Dobson needs to stop shooting off his mouth about Thompson and who he thinks are "good Christians". Judge not, lest you be judged.

Dr. Dobson is not telling you who to vote for, just expressing his opinion.

As are all the posters here.

BTW - My humble opinion is that Dobson is a sanctimonious windbag who loves to hear himself speak. I'm thankful that most Americans have the good sense to ignore him.

"We use that word – Christian – to refer to people who are evangelical Christians.

I'm not an "Evangelical" christian either, but I'm still a Christian.

This is horse**** ;(

This kind of judgmental crap just drew me a LOT farther away from the "Religious Right".

Fred just needs to have Dobson over to smoke a few cigars, have a few shots of whiskey, and discuss whether he is a Christian or not.
