Steve Forbes, former Republican presidential candidate, President and Chief Executive Officer of Forbes, and Editor-in-Chief of Forbes magazine has endorsed Rudy Giuliani for President of the United States. Mr. Forbes will serve as a National Campaign Co-Chair and Senior Policy Advisor:
I am honored to support Rudy Giuliani for President, Steve Forbes said. As Mayor of New York City, Rudy Giuliani showed how exercising fiscal discipline including tax cuts lowers deficits, spurs economic growth, and increases revenue. It is time the rest of the country benefit from a true fiscal conservative leader who gets real results.
Steve and I share an economic vision that embraces supply-side economics, tax relief, and spending restraint, said Mayor Giuliani. I look forward to working with Steve and am proud to have him as a member of our team.
Nice addition, as those of us who value economic liberty certainly look to Mr. Forbes as a leader on that front.

Thank you for that news.
My entire male family and one niece, as naval officers, did do at one time/is doing today, as reservists, their military assignments. My niece did do her time in the Persian Gulf and on tierra firme. She requested that assignment.

Just got in and saw this news. This impresses me. Judging by the last few posts it looks like I missed most of the fun.

"I don't expect anyone to fit all of my criteria. I do expect one who is at least 70% conservative, not 20%"
OK, I think that's fair. We'll never get the perfect candidate, to be sure.

We'll never get the perfect candidate, to be sure. We never do.
But if we don't at least fight for the better one, what right do we have to expect anything better?
For ourselves and our children.

To redirect your question.....My gawd, does Duncan Hunter bear NO RESPONSIBILTY for the Duke Cunningham fiasco? Or should we just move on? Afterall, to be fair innuendos and guilt by association should apply to everyone in running for president, don't you think?/p>

As far as Gatun, you could have 300 lawyers in yer family and that would still mark you an imbecile for your obloquy against General Olson.
Oh lord!!! Obloquy?
Yer?
And you are referring me to an imbecile?
LOL!!!

Contrast the Bush tax cuts with the money the Democrats would spend if they had the majority. In the last 3 years, The Democrats, who say they want to reduce the deficit, have tried to add nearly $2 trillion in budget bills, more than all of Bush's tax cuts combined. $92 billion supplemental for the war, $24 billion in pork added on.
Is that really the Democrats fault?
All through the 2006 campaign season Freepers told me Republicans were no different than Democrats.
I'm sure if there were a Senator Allen, instead of a Senator Webb, and a Senator Santorum instead of a Senator Casey, the Senate would have voted for a withdrawl certain anyway.
It doesn't matter.
President Hillary, President Rudy, no difference is there?
Now President Gingrich, that I'll argue for.
That said, GWB does spend money like a Democrat.

Just a quick trip to the on-line encyclopedia Wikipedia.org will get you his interesting tidbit:
Connection to Cunningham scandal:
Congressman Hunter is often mentioned in connection with the Cunningham/Wilkes congressional bribery scandal for three main reasons:
1. Duncan Hunter and Randy Cunningham were friends. They were both Vietnam Veterans and San Diego congressmen, and their friendship has spanned over fifteen years. Congressman Hunter does not condone Mr. Cunninghams actions, nor has he tried to defend them
Congressman Hunter is a close friend of Mr. Cunninghams, and friends dont abandon each other during times of difficulty, said Hunter spokesman Joe Kasper.[26]
2. Hunter and Cunningham were both advocates of the use of automated document conversion technology that could be used to convert government documents, such as maps and engineering drawings, into a format able to be edited by computer. In 1992, Brent Wilkes was a political consultant for Audre Inc, a firm based in Rancho Bernardo and headed by Tom Casey, which specialized in automated document conversion systems.
At that time, Congressman Hunter recognized Wilkes and Casey as two aggressive and enthusiastic promoters of a breakthrough technology. Congress created a program for the new technology, and Audre won $12.5 million of the $190 million that was allocated for contracts between 1993 and 2001.
But in 1994, Wilkes quit Audre and launched ADCS Inc., which customized a German document conversion system, to compete against Audre and two-dozen other software firms for government contracts. Hunter continued to back Audres American-made product and asked the Pentagons chief purchasing officer to "whenever possible, use [document conversion] products that are made in the United States by American taxpayers." Wilkes and ADCS started donating money to Cunningham. Between 1995 and 2005, Wilkes and his associates gave $71,500 to Cunningham's campaign and political action committee.[27] ADCS, in turn, received upwards of $95 million in government contracts. In November, 2005, Cunningham pleaded guilty to conspiracy, tax evasion, and receiving more than $2.4 million in bribes. In February 2007, Wilkes was indicted and charged with bribery of a public official.
3. Hunter and Cunningham, along with more than 100 members of the House and Senate Republicans and Democrats accepted money from ADCS Inc. owner Brent Wilkes, former MZM Inc. president Mitchell Wade, their relatives, employees or political action committees, according to the Center for Responsive Politics, a campaign watchdog group. In December of 2005, Hunter directed that the contributions he received from Wilkes and Wade be given to the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund.[28] "We had options," said Bruce Young, treasurer for Hunter's re-election campaign. "We could keep the money, send it back, send it to the government or send it to a charity. We just felt that because of the situation, we would rather not have the money."

President Hillary, President Rudy, no difference is there? You can't be serious. Hillary never met a tax break she liked. Rudy cut taxes 23 times. Hillary never met a military mission she could support. Rudy is a strong supporter in the WOT. I could go on but I don't think you're serious.
