Webb wrote scenes that are quite lewd
And now his aid has been screwed
In macacca Jim stepped
And so we have leapt
To the conclusion hes coming unglued.

Obviously the problem is that Webb doesn't have a DC license for that gun, and he is setting himself up with unlawful posession himself if he says too much, and he knows it.
Webb says assistant made 'unfortunate' error having gun
WASHINGTON -- Virginia Sen. Jim Webb said Tuesday that his executive assistant made an "enormously unfortunate" error when he inadvertently tried to carry a loaded pistol into a Senate office building Monday.
...Snip...
"I think this is one of those very unfortunate situations where, completely inadvertently, he took the weapon into the Senate yesterday," Webb said.
...Snip...
Thompson, who spent his 45th birthday in a Washington, D.C., jail, told police that the gun belonged to Webb and had been given to him temporarily for safekeeping, according to a court record. But Webb, at a Capitol news conference, declined to say who owned the gun. "I have never carried a gun in the Capitol complex, and I did not give the weapon to Phillip Thompson," he said.

The People's Republic of Northern Virginia elected this guy. But no matter, we'll suffer him for six years. We've had worse.

He sounds like a despicable individual. And no, I don't care if he carries a pistol to work in his briefcase...but throwing an employee under the bus like that when he could easily diffuse the situation...despicable.

IMO, all he did was deny he gave the gun to the aide.
He didn't deny the gun was his.
The aide probably didn't even know the gun was in the bag. heh-heh. /s

In the Senate, "executive assistant" means the guy who drives the senator around and carries the handbag, if your senator is female, or briefcase, if your senator is a male. This person has no legislative or policy respnsibilities whatsoever. He is a well paid handmaiden to Webb.

I think he's an angry whackjob. Why is he carrying a loaded revolver into Congress anyway?
Why do Democrats constantly break the rules and get away with it?
