Report: Fred Thompson's Wife Urges Candidacy
elephantbiz.com ^ | March 23, 2007 | Bill Hobbs

A Fred Thompson presidential run is looking more and more likely, says DC columnist and political insider Robert D. Novak:

Close friends of Fred Thompson say his wife Jeri is urging him to take the plunge later this year and run for the Republican presidential nomination.

The former senator from Tennessee and current actor on "Law & Order," in private conversation, makes it clear that he is seriously interested in launching a candidacy that has attracted extraordinary attention over the last two weeks. However, he does not plan to announce his candidacy in the immediate future.

The major rap against Thompson is that he was not a hard worker during his eight years in the Senate. His friends respond that this is an easily correctable error and that the same complaint was made about Ronald Reagan before he ran for president.

Thompson's wife is Jeri Kehn, was a political media consultant at the Verner, Liipfert, Bernhard, and McPherson law firm in Washington, D.C., when they married in 2002. She also previously worked for the Senate Republican Conference and the Republican National Committee.

So there isnt a 30 years age gap?

30 years is a huge age gap when you are 48. When you are 66, not so much.

He's 65, she's 40.

That's just about right.

I believe the formula is half of a guys age plus 7 years.

THIS is who you guys are suggesting be our FIRST LADY?

Yes, someone with considerable political accomplishments of her own, unlike you, who equates a man marrying a 36-year-old woman with pedophilia. You're pathetic.

That's what we need.... a smokin' hot first lady!

Fred's got my vote. No wonder he's happy!

Dont take it so personal. If you think I am bad, just wait until he enters the race and they are put under the same microscope you have had the candidates currently out polling him by a substantial margin, living under. You had better come up with something better than "you're pathetic".

Dont take it so personal.

I'm not. I'm just calling you what you are - pathetic.

If you think I am bad, just wait until he enters the race and they are put under the same microscope you have had the candidates currently out polling him by a substantial margin, living under.

I love it. You are a Rudy booster yet have the nerve to express concern about what the press will do with Fred's personal life?

BWAHAHAHAHA!

You had better come up with something better than "you're pathetic".

Posting guidelines limit me from saying what I truly think of you equating Fred marrying a 36-year-old woman to pedophilia.

the rudyfans time would be better spent trying to cope with how Rudy will deal with his bargeload of baggage, rather than worrying about Fred's marriage to a woman 25 years his junior. really, these protestations of concern could be given a smidgen of credence were they made by any other candidate's supporters. these are just laughable.
