This more than just liver cancer, it is metastiac colon cancer.

Metastisized cancer is cancer that originated elsewhere (i.e. the colon) and has spread to the liver. It's still liver cancer but didn't originate there.

Liver cancer is a primary malignancy (tumor) that started in the liver. Metastatic cancer is cancer that started someplace else (in this case the colon) and then traveled to another location, sometimes via the lymph system, sometimes via the bloodstream etc. Metastatic cancer is a huge problem because it means the cancer is no longer locally contained and could be in dozens or more places.

Metastasized means it has spread from another organ or body part where it originated. Tony has colon cancer that spread to the liver.

Liver cancer is a cancer by its self. Metathesized colon cancer means that the cancer cells from the colon has spread to another vital organ. No medic just a simple explanation.

The type of cancer you have is determined by the site of the primary tumor...the original cancer. In Tony's case it was his colon. When colon cancer spreads to other organs it's always colon cancer.

It's possible to have multiple primary cancers...the type of cancer is determined by pathology. Different cancers react differently to different treatments and typically metastasized cancer is more serious than a new primary.
